A new llama hat made by Toni!

One of the benefits of raising llamas is getting to use their absolutely gorgeous fiber for spinning, felting and other fiber arts. Our friend and coworker, Toni Cook, who knits some amazing creations, decided to try llama fiber after hearing all the excitement about the additions of llamas to Dawn of Promise Farm. (Llana and Annabell like the hat as much as I do!)

So Toni contacted our new friend and fellow llama breeder, Sharon Williamson of Pine Haven Llamas, and ordered some of Sharon's beautiful hand-spun llama yarn. When Scott and I were heading back from a fishing trip in Minnesota last fall, we stopped to meet Sharon and Jerry Williamson and to see their beautiful llama herd and farm. (Thank you Sharon and Jerry!) We picked up Toni's yarn purchase for her and brought it back to Indiana.
The photos in this post show the gorgeous hat that Toni made for me out of the llama fiber. She also made a small, llama fiber, knitted teddy bear (about 10 inches tall) that is adorable. Great knitting Toni!
