Over 50 people attend workshop about handling llamas

The workshop conducted on June 14, 2009, by Emaly Leak, at Dawn of Promise Farm was a fun and helpful afternoon of learning. Over 50 people attended the event where they learned tips on catching and haltering llamas, presenting a llama to a judge in a showmanship class and working with llamas for obstacle course classes. Six of the llamas from Dawn of Promise Farm served as the trainees. The workshop attracted adults and youth alike. Many of the youth who participated were 4-Hers from Tippecanoe, Parke and Montgomery Counties in Indiana. Others were brand new to llamas and enjoyed getting to lead a llama for the first time! There were smiles all around.

Thanks to Emaly for doing a great job with the instruction and to our many friends who helped us prepare the farm for the event. Kudos for the team effort!
