Dawn of Promise Farm is relatively new to raising llamas and is relying on the many years of experience in raising ponies to get off to a good start. We are starting out by visiting several llama breeders in the summer and fall of 2008 to get an idea of the type of llama and type of llama coat we prefer. We are also attending a few shows to soak in as much information as we can.
So far, we have met several wonderful people and many, many beautiful llamas. We can't wait to bring the first llamas home to Dawn of Promise!
Just as with the ponies, we look for a history of good personalities in a particular line along with great conformation, fiber quality of the llama’s wool, and suitability for a variety of uses.
We hope to be going to a few shows in 2009 with our new llamas. See you there!

PS - The photo captures some cria games at Mark Smith Farms near Linden, Indiana. We had a wonderful visit with Mark and Susan in August while meeting their llamas.
